To Resist Hitler and Survive
Last year, in 2008 it had been the 75th Anniversary of Hitler Seizure of power. The Germans had spent millions of dollars on remembering the Holocaust with monument, museums, and educational initiatives. It was said to have been impressive for a country dealing with their darkest past. The courage of the people that had died are now remembered and their stories are cherished because of what they had went through for just being who they were. After all these years it is time for all the German people and those to come to stand up against and mourn the ones that have past, so they won't have died for nothing, they will have died for something great, they will have died for those to rise up and make a change and stand up for who you are, no matter what.
Iraqi Kids Play Make-Believe War Games
Today in Iraq with the war going on between the Sunni and Shiite. The kids in Iraq are just like the kids over here in America, they follow what they see. So, they end up playing war games with each other and ducking behind cars and pretending to fall dead somewhere just like in the real war. Their parents discourage them from playing these games because they fear it will only contribute to sectarian hatred, of course the kids don't listen to them and they continue to play their war games. Many people in Iraq believe that these games increase the aggressive behavior in these kids. They are less focused on school work and more worried about being killed or displaced. They figure what's the point in studying if they are going to die anyway, before they can use it. It seems to me they are another country that is mixed up with what is going on. They need some help to try and straighten what is going out, so their children can be more focused on living life, rather than fearing when their going to die.
